The Mooslehen Challenge
Salzburg’s premier cycle race
The Mooslehenalm is one of SalzburgerLand’s most popular mountain biking destinations thanks to the exceptional panoramic view of the Grossarl Valley that awaits at the top of an arduous uphill ride. It’s a particularly lovely spot to linger whilst enjoying tasty treats from the Alpine kitchen. So, what could be more natural than organising a cycle race to the Mooslehenalm?
Every August, pros, amateurs, men, women, mountain bikers and e-cyclists rise to the Mooslehen Challenge.
The Mooslehen Challenge traditionally sets off from Grossarl’s village centre with the mass start at the marketplace at 11am. E-cyclists start at the Schied access road. To reach the Mooslehenalm, cyclists have to conquer an elevation gain of 600m over a distance of 9.2km. ‘The race is open to anyone who enjoys cycling’, says Markus Andexer.
A delicious and leisurely barbecue party as well as great prizes await at the finish of the Mooslehen Challenge!
