Hello summer + holidays
in the Grossarl Valley
Summer’s here and so is our new weekly programme for active holidays!
What are you waiting for?
The summer season is finally here, and hotel manager Markus Andexer is clearly delighted. The new weekly programme is ready, and everything is good to go. ‘After a great winter season with plenty of snow, the peaks are slowly turning green and the last of the snowfall is gradually clearing from the higher altitudes. And that means we’re ready for hikers, mountain bikes and e-bikes! I’ve already been along some of the hiking routes and mountain bike trails, including the Mooslehenalm.’ A keen mountain biker, Marcus has been waiting impatiently for summer to start!
I hope you’re as excited as I am about our active summer!
The 4-star superior GROSSARLER HOF at 920m above sea level is located within just a few metres of Grossarl’s lower cable car terminus, making it the perfect base for discovering the Grossarl Valley’s hiking region. Hundreds of kilometres of marked footpaths and biking trails traverse the Valley of Alpine Meadows, adjacent to the Hohe Tauern National Park. The Grossarl Valley was awarded the ‘Austrian hiking seal of approval’ and has won several Alpine tourism awards.
Mooslehenalm – the most popular active holiday destination
Situated at 1,500m above sea level, the Mooslehenalm Alpine lodge – part of the GROSSARLER HOF – is perhaps the most popular day trip destination for locals and guests alike. Add an extra special touch to your active holiday in the Grossarl Valley/SalzburgerLand with the Hotel & Lodge package: one night in the Mooslehenalm lodge including evening meal and breakfast!
You must try the Mooslehenlam’s Schwarzbeer Nock’n blueberry pancakes. Our home-made goulash soup and suckling pig brawn with pumpkin seed oil are also really popular.
New weekly activity programme
The new weekly programme offers at least two activities each day, so every guest can be as active as they please. Look forward to mountain bike tours with Markus Andexer, wildlife watching in the Upper Grossarl Valley, guided hikes, whitewater rafting, Yoga, Segway tours, paragliding, archery, canyoning and much more. After an eventful day in the great outdoors, the Erlenreich Relax & SPA has every wellness facility you could possibly desire. And following dinner in the award-winning Jagastub’n restaurant, join Markus Andexer to sample the delights of the wine cellar.
