Guaranteed snow and our ‘almost’ full board of culinary delights in Grossarl: What more could the heart desire?
he GROSSARLER HOF is only a few metres from Grossarl’s lower cable car terminus at the foot of the Grossarltal-Dorfgastein ski area and offers the perfect base for a fabulous skiing holiday in the SalzburgerLand. Throughout winter and even until Easter, 80 sun-soaked kilometres of ski slopes and 20 modern lifts on the GROSSARLER HOF’s doorstep entice both visitors from afar and our locals into the mountains. From here, ski enthusiasts have access to the ultimate ski resort of Ski amadé via the Grossarl-Dorfgastein ski area. 270 lifts and 760 kilometres of pistes, deep snow areas and a competition-grade half-pipe linked to a snow park ensure your unparalleled ski adventure. Throughout the ski region, ski hut landlords look forward to welcoming you with great food and drinks, and your children will simply love the Funslope as well as the beginners’ slope in the valley. Young and old learn to ski and snowboard with ease with either of the two superb ski schools in Grossarl.
The Alpine terrain is also a haven for more gentle winter activities like snowshoe walking, horse-drawn carriage rides, tobogganing and hiking by torchlight. The Grossarl Valley is known as the ‘Valley of Alpine Meadows’ in summer, so it can undoubtedly be called the ‘Valley of Ski Touring’ in winter. Away from the ski slopes, countless peaks (mostly between 2,000 and 3,000m) await you in the region around the villages of Grossarl and Hüttschlag – perfect for ski touring! Cross-country skiers also find ideal conditions in the Grossarl Valley. The start of the cross-country ski trail is within a few minutes’ walk of the GROSSARLER HOF. 25km of cross-country ski runs in and around Grossarl and Hüttschlag offer an extensive network for touring enjoyment.
Before and after your snowy exploits, your hosts – the Andexers and Viehhausers – put the finishing touches on your super skiing holiday with their GROSSARLER HOF ‘almost‘ full board. Enjoy a fabulous breakfast buffet, sumptuous afternoon snacks and an excellent four-course dinner with a salad buffet and irresistible selection of cheeses.
