ROCK CLIMBING WITH EXTRA SAFETY
Via ferrata are climbing routes in the mountains with handholds and footholds as well as a steel rope anchored into the rock for extra safety. The mountain experts from BERG GESUND offer a range of guided climbing experiences on the four via ferrata roues in the Großarl Valley an. The fully qualified local guides will be happy to show you the right technique and accompany you on this alpine adventure from start to finish. Maximum of six climbers per group.
The valley is therefore the perfect place to try out via ferrata climbing for the first time. The team at BEGR GESUND are also experts in rock climbing and offer both equipment hire as well as advice on the best spots in the region.
Canyoning & Rafting
WILD WATER & ENCHANTING CANYONS
Spectacular ravines, thundering waterfalls, eye-catching rock formations – canyoning is an intense experience in the heart of nature. Our region is the ideal place to enjoy this popular outdoor activity with a qualified guide. Equipped with a wetsuit and helmet, participants slip, slide, jump and swim their way through canyons. No previous experience is necessary, but you should be a good swimmer. Bring along a pair of waterproof shoes and leave any vertigo at home!
ENJOY THE GROSSARL VALLEY FROM ABOVE
The team at FlyTandem offer visitors the opportunity to admire the beautiful Großarl Valley from a totally new perspective. Participants walk or take the cable car up onto the mountain before gliding back down in the company of a trained expert. The views of the Hohe Tauern Mountains are truly spectacular. Flights are available for all ages and abilities.
Tip! Tandem paragliding can also be enjoyed in winter. In fact, it is even possible to take off using skis and then glide into the sky above.
NEW in the Großarl Valley! The 4.2km Mountain Cart course is an adrenaline-pumping experience for all the family. With 21 corners and 576 vertical metres of elevation loss from start to finish, it is a great activity that will leave you with a big smile on your face.
NERVES OF STEEL
The 3D archery course with 14 lifelike alpine animals is a popular activity in the valley. Families and groups of friends set out armed with a bow and arrow. Guides are available, but you can also simply see how you get on without any support. After all that archery action, stop off at the nearby Hoamalm hut for coffee and cake or a trout from the hut’s own pond.
CRUISE THROUGH THE LANDSCAPE
Why walk when there is a quicker and easier way to get around? Segway tours make it possible to explore the Großarl Valley without breaking a sweat. It is a great activity for all the family. Speak to one of the local sports shops such as Kendlbacher Sport 2000 to hire the necessary equipment.
