Fly Fishing incl Fishing Licence
29 May – 30 Sep 2020
The Grossarler Ache, fed by a small lake at the top end of the fishing area, meanders through the valley and offers a licensed fishing stretch of around 18km in length. Numerous tributaries in peaceful side valleys make for superb and varied fly fishing conditions.
Fly fishing on the Grossarler Ache
Anglers are thrilled by the Grossarler Ache’s excellent fish stock – predominantly char, trout and grayling – as well as the water, which is so crystal-clear that fishers can catch their prey by sight. Beginners can also enjoy trying their hand at fly fishing with the Grossarl Valley’s fishing waters. The Grossarler Ache is a typical mountain stream that meanders along its upper course. The fishing season lasts from 1 May to 30 September and, on the equipment side, we recommend 4wt and 5wt lines as these are ideal for fishing with dry flies, wet flies and nymphs. There is a strict catch and release policy in place throughout the fishing waters.
Tip: Private guiding service: our private guide accompanies you for the day and shows you the best fishing spots.
